Freedom High School offers Youth Apprenticeship opportunities for juniors and seniors. This program blends academic and technical classroom learning with real-world, mentored on-the-job training. Students gain valuable experience, enhance their academic and technical skills, and develop the future-ready abilities identified by Wisconsin's business and educational leaders.
In order to participate students must:
- Be at grade level, both in required courses and credit count
- Passing all current class
- Earn 2.0 average for citizenship grade
- Attend required meetings with coordinator, Jamie Brown

- Juniors permitted one block off and seniors are permitted to leave for two blocks for hands-on learning in the workplace
- Juniors plan their schedules to ensure they can take required graduation courses, explore and pursue CTE electives that lead to certificates offered by FHS.
- Seniors plan their schedule to ensure they meet required graduation courses and pursue CTE concentrators at highest levels to complete certification programs.
- Students ideally gain experience working for someone other than a parent to broaden their perspective, though exceptions are considered.

- Register for Classes-Check the YA box when registering for next year's classes at FHS
- Participate In ACP Activities-Complete required activities, including interviews
- Attend Informational Meeting-Join the session led by the FHS Counseling Office and YA Coordinator, Jamie Brown, in early spring
- Secure a Job-Secure employment with an approved employer.
- Report to Guidance Before End of Year-Confirm that you are working mornings or afternoon to guarantee your school schedule is finalized and requirements are met.

Jamie Brown is Freedom's Youth Apprenticeship Coordinator. She partners with with Freedom as a part of the CESA 6 Youth Apprenticeship team. She helps students explore and align their academic and career goals, providing expert guidance in academic advising, career planning and social-emotional support. Jamie is a key resource for student and partners across the Fox Valley Region, supporting them in navigating their educational and career pathways.
