CAPP UW OSHKOSH Courses

Freedom High School is running the following CAPP Courses in 2025-2026.
CAPP College Writing 101                                    
CAPP American Literature 214                
CAPP Spanish Intermediate Structure and Expression 204
CAPP Biology 105
CAPP Music Theory 102

Enrolling in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Cooperative Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) courses are a convenient and affordable way for high school juniors and seniors to earn concurrent high school and college credit, while developing key skills for future success. CAPP students pay less than half the standard per-credit tuition rate with the cost based upon the number of credits assigned to each class. It may also reduce the amount of tuition paid when you get to college because of the courses you can transfer (meaning fewer classes you have to take in college!)

Our high school counseling office conducts multiple meetings throughout the year to keep students informed of the process of becoming a CAPP student.  Interested students must do the follow in a timely manner.

1.) Apply to UW Oshkosh as a CAPP student (this will be done in Spring 2025 as a group during Irish hour.)
2.) Take the English Placement Exam-if taking CAPP College Writing 101 and Pass (the high school counselors will notify via email.)
3.) Register for the course on the UW Oshkosh website(usually done during the first week of class.)

Upon successful completion of a CAPP course, FHS students should request and send their UW Oshkosh transcripts to the colleges they are applying to.

Placement Testing for CAPP English 101

All students planning on taking CAPP English 101 (College Writing 101) via UW Oshkosh MUST take the UW System English placement test before May 30th to determine acceptance into the class.  

Unlike the math placement testing conducted at school for UWGB (CCIHS) courses, UW Oshkosh wants students to do placement testing on an individual basis.  Students are welcome to complete the testing at FHS, but we are not hosting the test in a formal setting.

A few days after you have applied to UW Oshkosh, you will receive an email with account information.  Once you have received this information, please refer to the link below for Placement Testing Instructions.

CAPP Course Costs

Payment: 

The cost for a CAPP credit CAPP (Cooperative Academic Partnership Program) is $110 dollars per credit.  CAPP Writing 101 and English 214 would be $330, $440 for CAPP Bio and CAPP Spanish will be $550.   Cost per credit at UW Oshkosh is $355.48  for a Wisconsin resident.

Payment is due October 3rd 2024 for: students taking a CAPP Course in Terms 1 and 2

Payment is due February 6th 2025 for: students taking a CAPP Course in Terms 3 and 4

Payment should be brought to the FHS Counseling office and checks can be made payable to “FHS."

*If you want to pay for a CAPP course in terms 3 and 4 now, families are more than welcome to.
