AP or Dual Enrollment (CCIHS) for Math?
Students need to conduct research to determine which route they want to go for math. Factors in deciding this will include:
1. Potential Post Secondary Schools students are looking at. Students should look at how their universities honor AP scores vs how will they honor Math 104 or Math 202 from UWGB. In order to do this, they need to look at the websites included on the links above that include:
Transferology
Wisconsin Private Colleges Award System
UW AP Award System
2. Costs-The cost for an AP Course is $98 and the student will take a rigorous exam in May. The cost for the dual enrollment math courses is $420, (approx. half of what it would cost to take on campus as an enrolled full time student) and there will be no exam in May, just the rigorous college level course.
3. CCIHS and CAPP students are starting their College Cumulative GPA's as they will have transcripted credit from either UWGB or UW Oshkosh and it will be expected that they report these transcripts to the colleges that they are applying to.
The decisions end up being:
AP PreCalc or CCIHS Math 104
AP Calc AB or CCIHS Math 202
