Lunch: Sausage Pizza – Tacos – Turkey Wrap - Hamburger
-All girls going out for softball can pick up their practice uniform Sunday night from 4-6pm on court C during open gym batting.
-Boys Soccer meeting time has changed – it will now be at 5:45pm tomorrow night.
-All wrestlers – MUST sign up for an exit interview. Sign up on Mr. Buechler’s office door. Turn in all uniforms and equipment on the day of interview.
-The JV math meet is next week Monday the 22nd, it is only for 8th graders (enrolled in HS courses), Freshman and Sophomores. It is a great opportunity for younger students to go and find out what Math Team is all about. The questions are tailored to the Algebra and Geometry levels. If you are interested, please sign up with Mr Rusch, Rm 145, by Wednesday this week. The team will leave FHS at 4:45, eat along the way to Oshkosh, and return around 9:00.
-Blood Drive – Blood Drive will be on March 18th. Little Ceasars Pizza will be served. If your 16 years old don’t forget your parent slip before you sign up.
-Sophomores: Class ring order day is scheduled for Tuesday March 16th. Josten’s will be located in the cafeteria during lunch to assist you.
-Dodgeball tournament: The dodgeball tournament will be held on April 14th at 6:30pm. The entry fee is $24 and you can sign up by contacting Caityln Hummel, Sami Hofacker, Matt VanWychen, or Adam Verhasselt. Please sign up by April 1st. Please join in the fun by watching! Entrance fee is $2.00 or if you bring canned goods is only $1.00.
-There is a summer health careers camp sponsored by Northeast Wisconsin Health Careers Education Center. There are two sessions available. Registration fee is $40.00. The camp is open to 9-12th grade students. You may pick up a flyer in the guidance office or go to www.newahec.org.
-There will be a Reality Science Camp sponsored by Bellin College and UW Green Bay. This camp would be of interest to students who want to exam in careers in physical therapy, sports medicine, radiology, emergency medicine or research. More information is available in the guidance office.
-Marian University is offering a nurse camp for 20 high school students on a first come, first served basis. Any student who participates in the camp and then enrolls at Marian University will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Information is in the guidance office.
-To all students in the Medical Mentoring Program; please have your confidentiality forms and TB test forms handed in to Mr. Dobyns by the end of March....or you will be banned from the Appleton area program and sent to a leper colony.
-Students & Parents: College recruiting is getting more and more prominent in our schools. On March 16th at Little Chute High School at 6:30pm and on March 25th at Fox Valley Lutheran at 7:00pm you will have the opportunity to see two amazing speakers on this subject. The presentations are free and open to students and parents from the Freedom School District. If you want to know more about the process of college recruitment then you can’t miss these presentations.
-DARE TO DANCE! Come to the Dance Teams Open Gyms and see if this sport is for you! Learn what is expected of our dancers, learn about stretching, warm ups, learn basic arm movements/placements that are essential to dance. Learn leaps & jumps & turns – proper technique and how to improve on what you already know. Learn what is expected of you if you decide to tryout for this award winning team. Open gyms are April 19th, 26th, May 10th, 17th and 24th from 530-700pm in the dome. All varsity dancers that are not in a spring sport are strongly encouraged to be there! More information can be picked up in the office.
-Buy your Freedom Fights Cancer t-shirts! Sign up in Hauser’s room or pick up an order form in the office. Return order form with money. Proceeds go to Soleburner Run/Walk.
-Applications for the AMC Student Volunteer Program are available in the Guidance Office. Students must be willing to volunteer for a minimum of 30 hours throughout the summer months. The program begins Monday June 14th and concludes Friday August 27th.
-Senior slide show pictures to the office & put them in the Dr. Suess box ASAP!
-The Freedom High School Jazz Band will be performing at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, March 16 at
7:00 pm. Janet Planet will be headlining the event while three other area high school jazz bands will also be there. Tickets are on sale in the office. $10 for adult and $5 for students. There will also be a CD coming out soon featuring the FHS Jazz Band and the other bands from that concert! (More info later) Don't miss a great opportunity to support your classmates and see Freedom High School students perform on a professional stage!!
-Seniors attending a UW system college – Placement test dates are now posted online – register ASAP at UWHELP.EDU Youth options students may also need to take a placement test.
