Email Special Education Phone: 920 788-7945 Hi, my name is Joyce Gaffney. I live in Kaukauna with my husband, Tim. Outside of school, I enjoy doing many outdoor activities such as walking, biking and cross country skiing. To me, there is nothing better than enjoying nature! I also have several hobbies, including rubber stamping, knitting and gardening. I grew up in a large family with nine children.
I've been in the Freedom School District for ten years, and teach special education. I earned my bachelor's degree at UW-Oshkosh, and my Master's degree at UW-Madison. I started my educational career in school social work, but after a long journey, finally wound up in special education. I teach both eighth and ninth grade students, which involves supporting them in the regular education classroom and teaching math and reading in a small group setting. The small group classes follow the same standards as regular education courses and incorporate individual learning styles. I like to think that every student in my class feels valued and respected, a key to quality learning.
