5th Grade Winter Birch Trees
The 5th grade students learned about several tools to show space in painting. We learned about foreground, middle ground, and background through some interacive examples on the smartboard. After careful planning in their sketchbooks, the students painted their trees and sky using some traditional and non-traditional painting tools. Finally, we were ready to put the whole scene together and finish it off with some splattered painted snow. The students made some beautiful winter scenery and learned about many different ways to apply paint to a surface.
Good questions to ask your child about their artwork:
-How did you make that?
-Can you tell me about it?
-Where did you get the idea?
-Where did you begin?
-What was your favorite part?
Have you ever created anything like this before?
-If you gave it a title, what would you call it?
